Digital W-4s Go Live on July 12

The manual process of filling out your federal W-4 and state tax withholding forms is officially over. On July 12, you can complete or make changes to your tax withholding forms within HRpulse. Just choose which tax forms you would like to update (federal or state) via the “Income Tax” link and access full instructions directly within the online forms. Submit your changes through the “Sign & Save” feature — no printing or signature required. You can also view a history of your changes at any time. For additional details, log in to HRpulse.

Rhode Island Healthy and Safe Families and Workplaces Act

Attention Managers of Staff, Faculty and Students

On July 1, 2018, a new paid sick time and safe leave law was enacted in Rhode Island: The Rhode Island Healthy and Safe Families and Workplaces Act. This law provides employees who work in Rhode Island for an employer with 18 or more employees the right to accrue and use paid sick and safe leave from work.

Employees affected by this law include full-time and part-time faculty and staff, temporary and seasonal employees, and student employees other than those in the federal college work-study program. New Name for Student Conduct

As of July 1, 2018, Student Conduct department will now be known as Community Standards and Conduct. This new name more closely aligns with the work they do to both proactively and reactively address student behavior that affects the entire JWU community.
