Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in JWU’s annual Battle of the Campus on Friday, May 4, from 1-3pm at the Scotts Miracle Gro Athletics Complex. This year, Student Involvement & Leadership (SIL) and Athletics have collaborated with Grit ‘N Wit, an obstacle course that tests teams of 6 with both physical and mental challenges. You/your team can sign up in advance online or on-site that day; cost is $6 per person. The first 350 participants will receive a free shirt! SIL is also looking for faculty and staff volunteers. If you are interested in supporting the event, sign up here.

It says a lot about Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta’s Executive Pastry Chef Lasheeda Perry '08 that her Instagram handle is @misschefsmileypants. (“Smiling never goes out of style,” reads her bio page motto.) The first thing she does when she’s introduced as the 182nd Distinguished Visiting Chef by Interim Dean Susan Marshall is to give shoutouts to her favorite instructors in the audience: “Hi, Chef Stamm! Hi, Chef Alexander! Hi, Chef Miscovich!”
