Throughout the last year, JWU’s Energy Conservation Office (ECO) and Facilities Management have been working to identify storage locations on campus where items were forgotten or abandoned and to clean out those areas to better utilize campus space. Many of the items are no longer of use on campus, but still hold value.
For the first time, JWU Providence is hosting a Surplus Store Sale on Friday, April 12, from noon-4pm, in the archives warehouse on the second floor of The Friedman Center, Harborside Campus. Items for sale include computer monitors, electronics, small kitchen wares, industrial kitchen equipment, office furniture, desk chairs, etc. This is a first come, first serve sale. Items will not be held in advance of the sale. Credit cards will be the only form of payment accepted. More items being added each day!
This month, the JWU Energy Conservation Office (JWU ECO) will be sponsoring a Sustainability Week packed with activities for faculty, staff and students, including the 5th annual Sustainability Fair on April 17. This is just one of the many efforts JWU ECO has made to help educate the JWU community about how to be more environmentally conscious.
Faculty and staff are invited to attend the upcoming Visiting Industry Professional presentation featuring Cindi R. Bigelow, president and CEO of family-owned Bigelow Tea, on Thursday, May 2, at 11:45am in Schneider Auditorium. Bigelow Tea is the US market leader of specialty teas, producing more than two billion tea bags annually. Ms. Bigelow will share her insight on leadership, family, business, career development and sustainable practices that have earned Bigelow Tea the designation of a “Zero Waste to Landfill” company.
