QPR Training for Faculty and Staff

QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer) is a suicide prevention-training program sponsored by Student Affairs, the CARE Team and Counseling Services. More than 98% of attendees stated that they would recommend QPR training to others. The fall session will take place on Wednesday, October 2, from 4-5:30pm, Downcity Campus (John Hazen White, room 402).

Participants will learn critical skills to intervene with students in distress. Those who have completed the training in the past are always welcome for a refresher. Space is limited. Please sign up by contacting Jean Russell LICSW, clinical counselor and training coordinator.

This October, Human Resources invites long-term employees and newcomers alike to attend JWU101: One University — Four Campuses, an insightful look into JWU’s history, purpose and campuses. All employees are welcome; however, this program is most valuable for employees who have been with JWU for longer than three months.

2019-20 Manager Development

Attention Managers of Staff: In support of our staff managers, JWU designed a three-part management development series to enhance the skills and abilities needed to select, manage and develop employees: Coaching and Feedback, Interviewing and Selection, and Performance Management.

This October, Human Resources is offering the first program of the series: Coaching and Feedback. Participation in this three-part series is required for JWU managers who have professional staff reporting to them.
