The JWU Campus 2022: Our Approach subcommittee is looking for faculty and staff members to volunteer as a mentor for the new jwuGOLD program. jwuGOLD is a pilot program for the 2019-20 academic year beginning in the fall term. The program’s goal is to connect first-year undergraduate commuter students with a JWU faculty or staff member to positively impact their satisfaction and ultimately their success and retention at JWU by adding another layer of support, guidance, and encouragement.
The mentor will act as a resource for their mentee(s). Mentors will experience a deeper sense of the JWU community, gain a better understanding of university resources, develop mentoring strategies and skills, and have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a first-year student.
