JWU students studying Accounting and Finance will once again offer free tax preparation services to individuals or married couples with incomes of $55,000 or less in 2018 through the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. JWU faculty, staff and students who meet the income requirements can take advantage of this opportunity.
JWU first launched its VITA program in 1991. The program gives students real world experience filing returns before graduation and familiarity with IRS rules and regulations. JWU VITA team members trained with faculty members to receive IRS certification, which is required to prepare federal and state returns.
