Help Welcome JWU Families and Alumni to Campus at Homecoming & Family Weekend

Homecoming & Family Weekend is just around the corner, October 18-20. All faculty and staff are invited to join in the festivities or volunteer to help make this annual event even more memorable for students, families and alumni.

If you are available to volunteer, please sign up for as many shifts as you’d like. Please do not submit all of your available time slots – only select the shifts you can commit to. And, don’t forget, set aside some time before or after your shift to participate in some of the weekend events – and bring your family! The full schedule and further details are on the Homecoming & Family Weekend website. Here are some highlights:

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18

The JWU Media Experience (6:30 - 7:45pm)
Visit the brand new Center for Media Production – take a tour of JWU’s impressive writing, recording and editing labs. Experience an immersive special effects video demonstration, using the high-end cinema cameras and giant green screen. Then, step up to the microphone, in our podcasting studio, to record promotional spots, which will be used "on-air" by our campus radio station, JWU Live!

Hospitality Showcase (6:30 - 7:45pm)
Join students and faculty from the College of Hospitality Management for exciting, interactive and informative activities related to each of the college’s programs.

JWU Players 3rd Annual Improv Show (9:30 - 10:30pm)
Join the JWU Players for an hour of pure laughter and comedy at their third annual "Whose Line is it Anyway?" improv show.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19

Wildcats on Parade (11am)
Student organizations, residence halls and athletic teams will proudly display their Wildcat pride in the annual Wildcats on Parade. This event is for the whole family—bringing the whole community together for fun, music and dancing.

Food Truck Extravaganza (11am - 2pm)

Culinary Demonstrations (noon)
The academic labs in the CCCE will feature samplings of sweet and savory foods from creations of resident chefs and students. Don't miss our JWU artisans at work.

Wildcat Spirit Zone (noon - 3pm)
Head to the Wildcat Center greenspace for activities for all ages. Various arts, crafts and lawn games will be set up. Paint a pumpkin, color a Wildcat, or play a fun game of corn hole.

Wildcat Tailgate (noon - 6pm)
JWU’s first annual tailgate during the field hockey and women’s soccer games. Bring your favorite tailgate snacks and beverages and cheer on the Wildcats! Consumption of alcoholic beverages is limited to persons 21 years old and older and must be consumed responsibly within the tailgate area.
