Wildcat Cheerleaders Receive Bid to NCA Nationals

Wrestling and women's volleyball are not the only JWU teams who are bringing national attention to the school. The Wildcats cheerleading team received a bid to the National Cheerleaders Association championship, April 4-5, in Daytona Beach, Florida.

JWU will compete in the NCAA Division III Game Day division, which was added in 2017-18. Teams in this division can utilize up to 30 people and be comprised of cheerleaders, dancers, mascots, a drumline, or any "spirit" related group.

The Wildcats are preparing for nationals by fine-tuning their skills with a particular focus on stunting. JWU will also focus on individual stunts such as pyramids and basket tosses. The team has also been working on their routine for Wildcat Madness, taking place on November 2, as well as preparing for the upcoming basketball season, which kicks off November 14 against Rhode Island College.
