Campus Announcements

A New Academic Year Has Begun
Read Providence Campus President Marie Bernardo-Sousa’s recent memo, A New Academic Year Has Begun.

Emergency Management Plan Training
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recognizes September as National Preparedness Month to encourage and remind people to be better prepared for disasters or emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities. JWU is committed to educating and preparing its community by providing the necessary resources to react and respond to a variety of emergency situations that may occur. All JWU full- and part-time faculty and staff members are asked to take the online Emergency Management Plan (EMP) training by October 31, 2019. This is an annual requirement by the university. Instructions to access the training are included in the recent memo sent by Christopher Harwood, director of emergency management.

Alarm and Sprinkler Testing
Facilities Management will be conducting fire alarm and sprinkler testing throughout the Harborside and Downcity campuses from Monday, September 16, through Friday, September 27. These tests will occur sporadically and throughout all of our buildings, including residence halls. The fire alarm will set off short beeps. The sprinklers will not discharge, and no alarms will sound. We apologize in advance for the disruption. If you have any questions, please call Andre Vafiadis in Facilities Management on his cell phone at 401-741-3287.

Wildcat Way
JWU and the City of Cranston officially renamed 100 Harborside Boulevard (the address for some buildings within Harborside Village) to 55 Wildcat Way on the Harborside Campus.
